Fall Styles From Face a Face

“Acetate is the key material of the Face à Face Silmo 2010 collections, with 12 new optical styles and 12 new sunglasses. However, metal is not left out with 6 new releases.

The different product concepts introduced play extensively with acetate, for both women and men.  Face à Face has also added valuable metal functional or decorative parts such as bars, hinges, nails, inserts, eyebrows….  The combination of both materials reveals the richness of each design.

Silmo 2010 will also be marked by a big novelty: the launch of Face à Face first “capsule” collection named “Legends”.  This collection reinterprets some of the emblematic eyewear designs of the 50s and creates a new, unique and recognizable style.  All 8 optical frames and sunglasses of the “Legends” collection are all built around the same metal bar, used on its own in a variation of colours or combined with daring acetate fronts.  Passion, seduction, sophistication …these frames become timeless, reminding of legendary stars and looks of this mythical era.”

The Brune from Face a Face

BRUNE - A ray of golden light seems to escape from the sculpted redcurrant front piece.  The front and back surface colors are intertwined into each other to design traceries, following the traditional technique of marquetry.  In answer to this strong graphic feature, fluid temples seem to undulate in space, carried away by the winds of fashion!

The Swann from Face a Face

SWANN – The temple is shaped in a Z through a special heating and shaping process. It is linked to the side pieces by a soldered hinge and then inserted into the acetate. A meticulous adjustment is necessary to insert the metallic pieces into the front, and make sure  they are perfectly aligned with the side pieces.
